H3>October 2002 Acid Level Tests We got the test results back from the lab on the alpha and beta acid levels in the hops. The Canadian Redvine sample tested out at 47.3% moisture as sent in. The Alpha Acids were 7.0% of the dry weight. The Beta Acids were 7.9% of the dry weight. The Chinook sampled tested at 46.6% moisture as sent in. The Alpha Acids were 12.8% of the dry weight. We elected to mulch the A set this year to test for winter survivability of the vines. We used our skirtings from our sheep to mulch the plants heavily.
