Solar Panels on the Roof

,

September 16th: it’s the Big Day! It’s time to get the solar panels on the roof. Our system is designed to have five panels initially, but it’s also designed to take an extra panel if we need it later. First, we had to get our ropes and ladders set, then get safety lines tied to the truck on the other side of the garage.

Ken and some other workers are standing on the back side of the house where several ladders are set up.

Four panels are now up and installed. Unfortunately, one of the panels was defective, so it’ll have to be replaced. That ended work on the system for a while.

The team hoists the solar panel onto the roof using a rope and a ladder.
