On Saturday, October 4th, we had our big Garvin Mesa Day Open House. All three wineries and our farm were open, with special events planned. We had a barbecue with mutton legs for tasting, plus some locally-produced cow’s milk cheese. The three wineries – Terror Creek Winery, Stone Cottage Cellars, and Azura – all had food, wine, and cheeses. We were set up to do farm tours as well.

Last year, this was a big event for us, and we had lots of people. Small Potatoes Farm also came with garlic and potatoes, allowing visitors to buy dinner right here on the mesa, all locally produced.
Unfortunately, the weather was bad this time, and by mid-afternoon, we had rain and cold. Only about 12 people showed up. Despite that, we did sell quite a bit of meat. However, we had a lot of leftover meat and cheese, so we’ve been almost exclusively eating the leftovers recently. Oh darn! 🙂
