Spring… Or Not!

, ,

We woke up this morning to more snow.

Fresh snow coats the pastures, mountains, and trees.
Fresh snow covers the trees and the ground.

Fortunately, it melted off pretty fast, and we got the pregnant ewes out onto pasture. It was just in time, too. The live cover ewes are at 144 days, and the AI ewes are at 142 days. I expect to see lambs by this weekend. A few flowers even decided to poke their blooms out, and the ants were having fun on the early dandelions.

The pregnant ewes are out on their newly-exposed pasture.
A dandelion is in bloom, despite the snow.
Another type of flower is in bloom.
A few early ants are scavenging pollen and nectar from some dandelions.
