First Five

,

When we restored our 1927 kit house on the farm, we found these bottles of wine in the basement. They were some of the very first commercial wines made in Colorado. We had a wine party with our winery neighbors and opened them.

Surprisingly, the red wines were not very good, but the whites had aged remarkably well. They were better than some of the wines currently being made here! We still have one unopened bottle. Maybe we’ll try it this year.

Prompt: Plastic or glass, make a photo of a bottle or grouping of bottles today and post it.

Five Colorado local wines are lined up in a row.
