Our shearing is finally done for 2011.
We had lots of sticky fleeces and hard-shearing sheep. I’m not entirely sure of the issue yet. Some of it is probably the weather, since ours was not the only hard-shearing flock in our area this year.
Some of it was also due to coats. I ran out of larger-sized coats, so they were too tight. I think that caused some felting problems.
Sticky means there were more second cuts than normal, but they’re still really nice wool. I may have some pictures to add later. I didn’t take any, but some of the people helping out did.
Now comes the task of shipping out the pre-sold Ravelry fleeces, then getting the rest up on our website before lambing begins.
