Most of this past year has been spent working on LambTracker, our open-source flock management program. As a result, this blog has been totally neglected. My Twitter feed has been the one thing I’ve kept up with. It’s a lot easier to send a quick tweet than it is to write a decent blog post!
However, we are lambing now, and the first full cycle of LambTracker development is nearing its end.
Lambing is going well – we were again very successful with our AI experiment, with 50% of ewes getting pregnant via AI. We tried the procedure on 24 ewes, and 12 lambed to AI. Our backups seem to have worked, and we are nearly 1/3 done with lambing. So far, we have lots of nice, healthy lambs.
