The roof got underway this past week. It started to snow again and got slippery, so the crew had to quit partway through, but we did get the north side upper sections done. All we need is two good weather days, and it’ll be finished! Continue reading

Construction continues! Batts are being added over the siding, door and window trim is being installed, and the flashing for the roof is going up. It needs to be installed before the dormer siding. Construction is proceeding at a rapid pace. The rest of the windows and doors were installed today. The stairs were also roughed in, and we can easily get up and down to appreciate the views from the second floor. I definitely prefer going up the stairs in comparison to the ladder! Today, the crew finished the exterior framing, framed where the stairs are going to be, and put Tyvek on the west side of the building. Tomorrow, more windows will be going in, and Tyvek installation will continue. Continue reading

We made major progress today. The front porch is now covered, and the Tyvek has been started. What’s even more exciting is that the first two windows are in. Next up is framing and putting in the stairs, then the rest of the doors and windows. Continue reading
